I have two lyretails in TTM currently (see other thread here http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2590028). I started with three, but lost one to what I suspect is Flukes (see previous thread, the last 2 posts). They are currently going through TTM for ich. I started Prazi on 7/24, the same morning I noticed one of the females was just sitting on the bottom. On 7/25 she was dead.
I moved the remaining 2 to a new tank on 7/25, and dosed Prazi again. These past few days the smaller female has a really thick slime coat...thick enough that the oxygen bubbles my power head creates are sticking to her. She is swimming and active, when I go to feed she whips around the tank like she's eating, but I never actually see any food go into her mouth. Her color is vibrant and normal - other than the thick slime coat nothing appears too out of the ordinary.
I've also been using Prime to keep my ammonia in check. Could the combination of Prime/Prazi be causing this? The other Lyretail doesn't have the same symptoms. I tried to get a decent picture, but it's hard to capture...
Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!
