Does anyone have experience with the Mac Angelfish that are Tank Raised?

A LFS has a 2" and also a 1" beautiful specimens.

Pictures would be great as well so I can see the coloration of Adults in our aquariums.

Thanks
Heath

Great fish that gets huge. I had one for 5 years that finally outgrew a 265 gallon tank. He loved any food I put in the tank.

I love my tank raised Maculosus angelfish! I have had him for a little over a year. I bought him from the Diver's Den at about 2.5 inches in length, and now he is well over 6 inches. I feed clams, nori, and nls pellets.

Here are a few pictures...

Just simply beautiful!!!!!!

I am sold on getting one but which of the 2 sizes would be better?

Would I be able to add any other fish in after it?

I would probably go for the larger one. The only fish that I have added to my tank after the addition of the Mac was my Black Dogface pufferfish, with no aggression. My Mac is not too aggressive, nor too teritorial. The other fish that are in the same tank are clownfish, hawkfish, tangs, and triggers. HTH

It may give butterflys a little hard time but it should pass over. Depends on the fish and while small they aren't very aggressive.

The larger would be better because you won't need to feed as often and it should be a more stable fish and easier to keep alive... always good :) But yes butterflyfish are good tankmates.

Sounds great as I picked it up on my way back home from Dallas which I had spent the last week in.

It was a nightmare when I got home and saw my tanks TEMP was at 56 degrees. I have been able to account for 4 fish that are still alive which are two tangs a Lamark Angel and a BG chromis. The dead so far is a yellow headed goby. The un accounted for is a 6line wrasse, christmas wrasse, and bird wrasse.

The new guy is acclimating to the sump refugium which the temp is steady at 75.

The reason for the temp drop in the DT is that the overflow and return ran dry so none of the heater water was making it back into the DT. Which is why I am now going to turn my extra 10gallon tank into a holding tank for extra water for an ATO that I need to pick up so this doesnt happen again.

Ok the Christmas Wrasse and Bird Wrasse have appeared and just waiting on the 6line to show up alive. So far the only lost was the yellowheaded goby.
