Mac users with Profilux

Well my old PC laptop took a final dump today and will no longer turn on. I had the Profilux software loaded on it and was able to play around with the settings of the controller while waiting for my new tank to arrive. My main computer is a MacBook and I have installed Crossover on it. I was able to get the Profilux software to load on it just fine but the only issue I ran into was I could not get the softaware to connect to the controller via a usb to serial adapter. To those who have tried it, if I bought the USB card or the wired ethernet card, would I be able to connect to the controller? My back up plan is to buy a cheap Dell and just use it for the controller.

I have had no problem with my mac and the wired card. the only thing for me is that I can't see the lower row of button. AKA LOAD and SAVE!

that has to do with the screen scalling (dpi) if I remember correcly there is a way to change that in a custim profile if you are running crossover or wine...

Were you using the usb card for the profilux or the ethernet? If I can make changes to the settings and save it, thats all I wanna do. The GUI is a lot more easier for me to program than the on-screen settings on the controller.

Ethernet and I am able to do everything I want with, espacially with the fix that bobbox provided.

Oh I forgot to ask, were you using Crossover or WINE?

The ethernet card sure would be cheaper than a junker PC computer~

Crossover, but i'm about to compile Wine to play with it, since my crossover evaluation is about to expire!

Good deal. Thanks again! I ended up purchasing the whole version of Crossover back when I bought the controller. I'll post results once I purchase the card :)

Have you looked at VirtualBox?

It is Free and works very well.

I use it to run MS Windows under Linux on a seamless desktop.

They have a Mac version as well.

VirtualBox require that you install windows on a image drive. Might be too complicated for the common user that only wants to run Profilux.
Reminds me of VMWare.

But thanks for sharing I will use it for other purpose. HIHI

Mac, wine and profilux

Mac, wine and profilux

Kidney514, Did you get profilux control running on a Mac using wine? I tried but it did not work. It appears to install but the install to directory is empty. What version of wine did you use and did you install the x11 update?

Wine works for the example programs.

Thanks,

I d/led the most recent version yesterday and compiled it, make sure you have the latest Xcode 3.1 and then I compiled it using the terminal!
go into the wine directory, and then type "sudo ./configure && make depend && make" or not sure if I did udo ./configure && make depend && make && make install"

How do you manage to set up the Profilux computer via Mac?? I connected my Macbook Pro via Ethernet to the Profilix, but I can't connect use the connect button in the ProfiluxControl program, it can't find the device?? Any help??
