I have 3 mangrove that have already there roots and leave. I have a fuge with 2-3 inches of sand and mud. should I bury the roots or can they be on the water column?

I also got manatee grass and Halimeda, I bury the halimeda root in the sand but how do I bury the grass manatee roots they seem to be fragile.
So far I bury almost the whole thing. and left the leave out. will that be ok?

The mangroves will be okay in the water column and by placing them this way it will hlp encourage prop roots. Keep in mind with the mangroves that they should be placed in the water at the same depth as they were before since they are already rooted, also they are very sensative to salinity change so make sure the water you're putting them into is the same. Salinity acclimation for a mangrove needs to be a long process, on the order of weeks.

The Halimada is easy either place it on the sand, bury the roots a bit, or wedge it in between some rocks, For the manatee grass dig a hole, or trench, place it in and carefully bury it.
