macro fraggin

How would be the best way of getting a sample of macro from another reefer be... the alage appears to be rooted into the LR and is about the size of your hand. I'd like to ge a piece and try it in my refugium. It's a red macro that looks very much like what kheflw has pictured here.....

just cut a chunk off!

but will the cut off chunch grow it's own roots, or will I just end up having to give it as a treat for my tangs

Most macro's like that will often attach themselves if gently pinned down.

thanks, great to hear.... would securing it to a piece of rubble live rock with a rubberband suffice, or is there a better way? and no root structure is required correct?

Just make sure the rubber band isn't too tight and cuts through it Those algaes don't form "root" structures, but will form holdfasts that attach to surfaces.
