Macro HDR

I was messing around with some macro shots, so I started bracketing and trying out a little HDR tonight.

I kind of like the results, it's interesting.

I wish the first picture had a different depth of field, but oh well, win some lose some.

That last one looks almost as if the flower were a separate layer in photoshop with a wide drop shadow. Very interesting results, I haven't seen anyone use HDR with macro photography before.

The first two are a little blurry because I was dealing with some wind and HDR requires three exposures, so they werent exactly stacking perfectly. I really do like the last one though.

I think I'll be able to get a lot more like #4 when there isn't wind :)

I used CS4 and Photomatix.

Thanks, me too. I hadnt yet seen it applied to macro work although I'm sure it has been, but I wanted to try it and see how it turned out.

I cant wait for a non windy day so I can get some HDR shots without the slight blur you see in the first 2 or 3 pictures.

A couple more I really liked... I went out shooting today and it was barely windy, so it was a lot easier to get 3 consecutive clear shots.

I'm irritated this next one isnt clear... the flowers up front I wanted to be in focus and they just arent... the wind was just enough to wiggle that long stalk and mess up the shot. Oh well, win some, lose some.
