Macro ID - PICS

OK so i bought some Macro from my LFS 2 weeks ago. This red algea/plant seems to be doing extremely well (taking over)

If you cant see it has little bumps and what seems like thorns (but are soft)

Appears to be halymenia.

It could be a Halymenia, yes. It has the right shape, the right growth pattern, and the little spike-like structures. If its slimey/slippery to the touch, that would strengthen this ID. There may be other candidates for the identity of what you have, but Halymenia - dragon's breath macroalgae - is a pretty good guess.

Funny aside: I got brave a few weeks ago and decided I would taste some of the Ulva that's been growing out in a bare tank. It actually tastes pretty good! Very metallic sort of crisp kinda flavor. Definitely want to put some in my miso soup now.
