Macro Lens Suggestions?

I was hoping someone would have a suggestion for a good macro lens for a Sony a390. what mm lens do you like to shoot corals in macro?

noone has any input? maybe someone can tell me the specs they like for a macro lens to have and i can go from there.

Not too many people shoot Sony.

Any of the aftermarket brands, Tokina/Sigma/Tamron, make good to great macros in the 90-105mm range. I don't know if any of them make a Sony mount, but you wont go wrong with any of them in that range.

great post beerguy. that will be very helpful. i think i will look for a used minulta maxxum lens since they work with the new sony cameras. that will save me a lot of money i think.
