Macro lighting?

What the best bulb to grow my macro under? I running the HD round reflector and a 75w energy saver 6500k right now. But, it's more a white light than yellow for 6500k.

I'm wondering what everyone else uses? Thanks!

Yinger thanks, I saw a 5100k at HD today. Can't remember if it was an energy saver (pretty sure it was) and whether it was flood or round tube style. How does your macro grow under yours? I just got some from Sam last week and I think it's growing.

Does melev have info on his site about it? Thanks!

if its the energy saver flood light, you should stock up. They are usually special order only. I haven't had too much growth with mine. Its pretty much the same size since i got it about a month ago but I my tank doesn't have too much nutrients either. If i can find the 5100k, i'll pick some up but not worth it to order it because of shipping. We'll see though.

yeh it's on his website. He did a study on the 5100k v 2700k and the growth was about double with the 5100k. Huge difference.

I have the same fixture... a LOA flood light. I'm desparate for a "yellow" is bulb. This 6500K is killing me w/ the slow growth. I had better luck w/ a desklamp back in the day.
