Macro problem

what kind of phytoplankton are you using? You don't get a benefit by dosing it in less than the recommended quantity and frequency. The benefit of adding phytoplankton is the ability to sustain larger populations of things like pods, and that requires consistent (daily) dosing. What brand of phytoplankton are you using? I hope it's a live product that requires refrigeration. If you're using an off-the-shelf product that can sit at room temperature, it's just water pollution in a bottle.

Seriously, if you're not going to dose phytoplankton daily, you should forget about dosing it at all.

It's inhumane and irresponsible to get a "throw away" creature to try to control algae issues in a tank. Sea slugs have a very specific diet - and if you remove their very specific food source, they starve and die.

Your best bet is continual manual removal. It's safe and it's the fastest method, and you won't have to worry about contributing to something as inhumane as sea slug collection. There are just too many dangers regarding keeping sea slugs, and I never like to see that someone recommends one.

OK I understand the term "Throw Away " creature and I am a bit upset that you would assume that I would be that irresponsible....Beleave me if I could get one of those sea slugs there is enough Macro in that tank to keep him happy and healthy and well fed for as long as they live....the Macro grows so fast in this tank I swear I can see a difference from one day to the next.
I worry about manual removal because I am also tugging at the corals it gets wrapped around and it can't be good to have my hand in there for so long every week
