I thought the more Mega Pixels the better?

Ima see if I an get them any better.

Past 4 megapixels at the size of picture we are using it makes little to no difference. That is a beautiful carpet though. I never liked the blues that one might change my mind though.

I beg to differ. Here is my ricordia up close at 6.5 MP. Cropped and downsized of course for the web.

Love the ricordia. The picture shows that you have a great macro. I still stick by my statement that past 4 megapixels it doesn't make a difference unless you are making a picture larger than 8x10. JMO

Now that I catch your meaning, you are correct. Unless you're making posters you do not need that many pixels since you'll just be losing most of them in the downconversion to a smaller size.

Josh....Dude.... That is sick!

I have a 6.1MP how can I do that?!! DAMN!

While I would like to give credit to my elite equipment, this was taken with a Point and shoot camera.

I have an incredibly strong right wrist. It helps a lot! I can keep the camera really still.

300$ camera, no lens, 0 years in experience. some day:D

I was just bragging. That shot was taken with my wife's Nikon S6 in macro mode.

I could have done much better with my camera and lenses. This was just a test of her macro mode.

ok, I have a kodak 6 mgp zoom camera, how do you get those shots, I have played with it over and over and can't get good close ups

Not necessarily - 3.2mp:

It's got more to do with technique than the camera. There's some lessons on taking reef photos here:

www.ximinasphotography.com/lessons

For the quick and dirty, start with the "Techniques" section.

Sony V3 cost me $300 two years ago. Picture taken freehand without a tripod, if I did used a tripod and the timer the picture would comeout much better. Resize for net only no croping at all.
