Every time I put macro algae in my refugium I get dead bleached algae. I'm trying to set it up to help lower my nitrates. I have a kessil h380 light on 12 hour cycle (on at night). Any ideas?
That's a heck of a lot of light. How big is the fuge? Something with that output I would imagine doesn't need to be on that long, or should be at a very low intensity setting.
How high is the light? I have a Kessil H80 and it reads about 200 PAR just below the surface of the water at 100% intensity at the GROW mode. The light is placed about 4 to 7 inches. I didn't measure the distance (I will when I get home today)
