Macros died

I have some macros in my tank but some of them died. I think half of them died because yellow tang and huma trigger were nipping on it.

I have lights that I run around 8 hours a day. 96x2 50/50. What kind of PC light is good for marine plant growth?

I also have aggressive fish in the 125 tank. My tank is only 1 month old fully cycled.

The lights probably aren't the problem, depending on the type of macro you are growing. Keeping macros in a tank with a tang probably isn't going to work out. They are herbivores.

I will take the tang out since he is eating almost all my macros and even chaetos. Also my canister intake and HOB skimmer intake keeps sucking some of my macros. Is there any way to stop this? If I keep some rocks around the canister intake would that help? In case of skimmer intake I cant do much since the intake is located almost on top of the tank but canister intake in in the bottom.
Thanks

try rubber-banding the macros to small live rock rubble and placing them away from any intkaes until the start growing. As they grow, they will attach to rocks around them and that way they will no longer float around and get sucked up by the filters.
