I use ro/Di water now and have been for awhile now and just wanna let anyone in the lynchburg/Madison heights area know that the tap water is veeerry high in phosphates. Just a reminder to listen when one of the vets tell ya "dont use tap water". Since I switched to ro/di water I've seen way better health in my tank even my little acro frag is growing. Of course you can use your ro/di filter because its just about required. But thats it just puttin it out there just in case some one new wants to shrug off not using tap water.

this is a common beginner problem, the pet stores do not usually clue you in on the fact that one of your first purchases should be an ro/di unit, you will not have much succes until you do. It is not something pretty to look at but your tank will not be either untill you put good water in it.

That is so true Jorge, you would think that most of the LFS would at least carry a few supplies or even a complete unit from time to time.
