Mag 18 Question

I recently bought a Mag 18 from Marine Depot, and the instructions state that I should use a Minimum 1 1/2" inside diameter hose for maximum flow. Is that the case for the input, output or both? It's kind of confusing since the return outlet is threaded 3/4" and the input outlet is 3/4" treaded as well and there is only one sentence in the instructions that reference this. I plan to use the pump as a return pump, with a SQWD, so at some point I have to reduce it to to 3/4". Would I be better off running 3/4" hose from the pump all the way to the SQWD, or should I reduce the hose to 3/4" at the SQWD. Which set up would give me the best flow? Maybe this isn't the best place to ask this questions, but I figured I'd start with the folks I bought the pump from, and if I couldn't get the answer here, I'd contact the manufacturer.

TIA,

Yes 3/4" from the pump, reducer for the return would do you better. The pump should always have teh inlet flow as large as possible so that the pump do not run out of water.
