Mag 7 Issue

My Mag is giving me some fits the last two days. I use a wavemaker to control the pump, along with a couple of powerheads. I use the feeding option on the wavemaker to turn off all the pumps and after 30 minutes, the wavemaker turns all the pumps back on.

The Mag 7 has worked flawlessly for about two years. Now however, the pump does not restart when signaled by the wavemaker. I have taken it apart and cleaned the impeller and as far as I can tell, it looks fine. What I end up having to do it tap the outer housing with a screwdriver handle and the pump comes back to life.

Any ideas?

Does the magnet that the impeller is mounted too look worn? If it is worn too much then it will have a hard time starting, atleast from my experience.

I have a new impellor assembly for a mag 7 if you want to try it.

i have heard that mags are not good to use if you switch the pump off and on occasionally.
