Mag 7 vs Tunze silence

Should I choose a Mag 7 ($80) or a Tunze Silence 1073.020 ($85) for my return pump in my 75 gallon? The Mag 7 does 700gph and the Tunze does 640gph. Anyone have experience with the Tunze?

EDIT: forgot to add that the Tunze does have variable speed built in.

I have a soft spot for Mags because they have been unsung workhorses for me over years but the design is pretty old on most of them and they suck down the electricity at an alarming rate for some of the models. The Tunze is probably going to use about 1/2 the power of the Mag7. The Mag7 is probably a little more powerful and able to push a little more head but if you don't need to push too much head anyway the Tunze will probably be the better pump and save you some electricity and dump less heat into the water.

I have had both on the same tank and I can tell you that the tunze will not deal with head pressure as well so you will have a bit slower turnover with it. But it is quieter, uses less energy and very little heat is added to the water compared to the mag. Dont get me wrong the mag works and works well, but I was looking to eliminate as much noise and heat as possible that is why I switched and am very happy that I did.

i like the magdrive pumps but the mag 7 is LOUD! even louder than the two mag12's that i have. i believe it's becouse they stuffed alot of power in a casing that was designed for alot less power, i also have a mag2.5 and the casing is the same size as the 7 that one is totaly silent.
