Mag 9 wont start

Hello

I took my mag 9 out of service tonight to dip in vinegar and remove buildup. After it was clean, I put it back together and now I cannot get it to start! This is so frustrating....I have tried taking it apart again, banging it, repeatedly plugging it in and nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? Its only about 6 months old

I've had this happen before and with it plugged in I've dipped it in and out of the water a couple of times and it got going. Of course you don't want to leave it out for a prolonged period of time, but it might help.

This is awful...I just pulled out my spare Mag 7 and the same freekin thing!! I thought Mags were dependable, are they not? What is a better pump? I think I will be buying one

I would call who ever you bought it from, and see if they can replace if not call supreme, it should be under warranty

Soemtimes I find that the casing that you take off can be screwed on to tightly. Try to loosen the screws a little and try it again. If this doesn't work try taking the whole outer casing off and try to start it, even though its not recommended, just to make sure it still works.

Take the casing back off and make sure the center rod that runs through the magnet spins freely. If you didn't do it during cleaning, pull the rubber cap off the rod and remove, then clean the rod real well and re-assemble it.

Also, run it in your sink or a bucket and make sure all the trapped air is out. The guys are right, you could accidentally over tighten the scews on the casing and prevent it from spinning freely, I had that happen to me..."good luck"

...finally got it to work. I took off the outer part that screws on and left the impeller in place while I put the pump under water and plugged it in. Then I gently moved the impeller to try to "jump start" it. This got it spinning!!! After checking that it would start on its on a few times when plugged in, I replaced the casing and it started on its own with no probmem. Thanks everyone for all your help!!!!
