mag drive 24 noise?

i bought a mag drive 24 from a fellow reefer and it was super noisey... i ordered a new impeller and when it came in it only shut it up a little.. theres a piece of foam inbetween the pump and the sump glass but its still real loud... and advice?

My mag5 was a bit noisy initially but after a while it quieted down.

Mag pums are extremely loud I don't think that there is much you can do about it

whats a good sumbmersible return pump to get then that does that gph? do i need 2400gph in a 180?

No submersibles come to mind that can push that much water...

Do you have it hard plumbed?

It might quiet it down some if you put a 12" ish section of soft pipe on the inlet and outlet, it will reduce some vibration

Soft pipe being flexible PVC at the least or vinyl tubing.
