Mag. Foxface & Aust. Harlequin Tusk/ Elephant Ear Mushrooms?

I would like to get an Elephant Ear Mushroom to put in my Fowlr tank for something with a little life to it. Do you think my tuskfish and or my foxface would pick on it? I know these guys are not reef safe fish but hopefully they won't.

These guys are not reef safe for a reason, they can and most likely will bother the mushroom. Its up to you if it is worth the risk

I've seen both of the fish in reef tanks on many occasions. The tusk will eat shrimps and crabs but not corals. the foxface is mostly vegatarian. I think the mushroom is more likly to eat a fish than the other way around.

I agree with betamed on this one-the wrasse is more likely to nip something to taste it, but is not likely to have a taste for mushrooms! I ahve had mag foxface mess with zoas on occasion- but never to a problematic point. Those mushrooms will eat fish-very successfully.

The only time my foxface did anything to any of my corals was when he was trying to get at some bubble algae and he got some pieces of mushrooms, but that was it. Granted they are reef safe with caution but don't think I have ever heard of one eating mushrooms, seems to usually be zoa's if anything.
