Mag Scrapers

I use a mag float on the QT tank. Works great for small cleanups when you start to see diatoms. Does not work well on coralline. Does not work on a bowfront.

I use a credit card for the bow front and works on the coralline.

I also sometimes use the Dawn power scrubber (find in the dish washing detergent section in the grocery store) for heavy removal. Works awesome. Just tape off the battery compartment with electrical tape to make it last longer.

Some use razor blades. I have scratched my tank with them and will not use one again.

I scrape by hand. I used to use the Kent scraper with the long skinny handle and the metal blade on the end. But I found a scraper that I like better at Petsmart. It has a lot thicker handle made of solid plastic and has the replaceable metal blade on the end. It feels a bit heavier and is easier to grip. The best part is it was only $3.99.

Magnavore 6 ER- Works WONDERFULLY; even warns you about getting your' hands broke or stuck if between two halves. lol

Of course I used a utility knife blade to get the coraline off the front of my el cheapo plastic bowfront nano...... just so I could see in...:D

Don't take that as a "how to do it right" post....:D
