Magdrive Pumps

I am looking at the magdrive 9.5 and I noticed it's metal with metal screws. How does this not corrode if you submerse it in your sump???

Forget which magdrive I have, think is 12 or 18 but it is the cleanest pump in my tank. All of my others are coverd in crap(all rios) but my magdrive is still clean after over 2 years of use.

I doubt they would putt corrosive screws in a submersable pump.

well the magdrive 9.5 is 169.99 in Canada although for only 109.99 I can buy the pentai quite one 4000 which pumps more water then the magdrive. Is this pentair pump a good pump???? I am getting more bang for the buck am I not??? it's more gph for less money. Any one have problems with this pump before??

I have a Mag 9.5 in my sump and it is VERY reliable and designed well. I do not own a Quite One pump, but my experience with other low cost pumps is that they sometimes suffer from little problems like not starting 100% of the time without a little help (like having to turn it on/off a couple of times).

I run my skimmer off a quiet one 3000.... I've got zero complaints. I just bought a 4000 to run a closed loop in a different tank.

yikes that's a ridiculous price. check bigalsonline.com I got my mag 9.5 from them for like $59.95 (USD)

I've used Mag 3, 5, 7, and 9.5 pump and never once had any problems with them. They're near bulletproof IMO.
