Magnesium level

cool, what do you use when your mag levels are to low? ive been using seachems magnesium but i find it difficult to raise my levels.

right now my mag is at 1200. is this a dangerous level?

i am using the gen-x calcium reactor media and mine comes out at about 1300....but its more important that it is in proportion to your cal and alk levels from wihh

I been running mine around 1275, Just wondering if their is any benifit in bumping it up to 1350??
I'm not a science guy, so I really can't answer this. I use Randy 2 Part, part 3 recipe 1 to maintain my magnesium. Since there is a relationship between calcuim, magnesium and alkalinity and I like to keep my calcium and alkalinity high, I also keep my magnesium in the high end of acceptable levels.
typical readings for me:
calcium 450 to 475
alk 11.2 dKh
Magnesium 1350
All 3 are tested weekly.
I dose 500 ml of parts 1 and 2 per day and 100 to 200 ml of part 3 per week, depending on testing. I do 10% weekly water changes. 240 gallons total water volume.
My growth is fantastic and the only algae in my tank is coralline.
This question may be better suited for the reef chemistry forum so you can get an answer directly from Randy.
