Magnet mounting

I am putting together a 15 gallon hex and want to put my Tunze nano skimmer in the tank. There is a solid magnet on the side to mount it to a side of the tank, which does not work with the shape of this tank. I would like to add some magnets to the back of the skimmer to be able to attach it to the back of the tank. There is a small opening on the top that fits the skimmers dimensions almost perfectly but allows limited space for magnet size. So the magnet that is on the skimmers side now would not worked if I moved it to the back. What are my options for attaching a magnet or magnets to the back of the skimmer to mount it to this tank? Do I need reef safe magnets or any magnet of the right dimension and strength will do?

So are you saying that to fit the skimmer in, the magnet is in the way? Tunze has an old bracket setup that is a PIA but it is a lower profile.

No the magnet is on the side and since the tank is hex shaped it won't fit the side of the tank because it is angled. I was hoping to mount a low profile magnet on the back of the skimmer and use the Tunze magnet to hold it to the back of the tank.
