Magnetic holders for 6xxx series pumps

Is there anyway to upgrade the pull power of the outside magnetic attachment holding these pumps? My problem is that I have relatively thick acrylic.

I'm in the same boat am my tank is 1" thick. Roger said they will be working on making magnets for thicker tanks next year sometime. Algaefree will make you special suregrip magnets if you contact them, but I'm not sure if you want to go that route.

Later this year the magnet holder will be redesigned and what we have discussed is a standard unit for up to 3/4" glass and an external magnet only upgrade that boosts the strength for up to 1.25" glass. Right now the only way to do this is to buy your own bulk rare earth magnets for use on the outside and just use the Tunze half on the inside.
