magnetic powerheads

looking thru the other posts i got the idea to use magnets to strategically place powerheads in tank,but i was wondering how safe the metal magnet is in the tank,i didnt think that could be done? or is there magnets in the store that are plastic coated?

I have a couple MJ1200's superglued to a couple of glass cleaner magnets. they have to be the medium to large size. one word of caution, if you have kids around they like to pull the magnet on the outside of the tank off which drops the PH down to the bottom and sends sand all over but its a good way to stir your sand as well.

You can buy "Sure Grip" magnetic powerhead holders from Premium Aquatics. Or you can diy some.
