Magnum 350 Vacuum Attachment Help

I purchased a Magnum 350 Deluxe kit a few months ago for running the occasional carbon and for vacuuming my tank and sump. I can not for the life of me figure out how to attach the vacuum assembly to the Magnum.

I didn't get any directions with mine so there may be a better way, I hope there is since it is a messy underwater adventure to use it, but here is how I got it to work ...

There is a connector with a rubber o-ring on it. the small end fits (very tightly) into the vacuum hose. If you remove the intake screen the o-ring end will fit into the intake pipe. Turn it on and vacuum away.

thanks for the link. I wasn't too concerned about the manual because I had one of these back in the mid-90s but I sold it when I left the hobby. I just checked the pdf manual and I don't see any mention of the vacuum hook-up. It works okay the way I described but it seems silly to have the connection at the bottom of the intake U-tube. It probably was designed for the HOT versions and included with the standard 350 as an afterthought.

Tom, Ben thanks for the help. I have the manual but it does not talk about the vacuum. Tom, I will find my bag of parts/attachments and try this.
