My main return pump is a Pan World 200 and has been running for about a year or so. My question is how often and what type of maintenance/cleaning is done (if any) with return pumps?
Thanks,
Tim
External pumps are a little harder to clean than internal pumps in my opinion. You can't just toss the whole thing in a bucket of vinegar water.
Personally, I take apart the housing and the impeller and soak anything I can for a short time in vinegar water. CLean everyting with a toothbrush. Then take the fan cover off and do your best to clean all the dust and dirt out of there. Rinse everything off and make sure nothing looks cracked or broken. Put it back together and you are ready to go.
