Majano Murderer

As some of you have seen or heard, I suffered for a bit from a infestation of majanoes. That is until I got a Raccoon Butterfly. 'Ricky' has been a beast, devouring any and all in his path and now spends his days longing for more to ingest.

He will be pulled out of my display tank in the next week and placed back into my holding tank. So far he has been a model citizen in the main tank- not bothering anything buy majanos (and I believe he has taken a liking to aptasia). I did move my LPS into another tank for the time being, I won't trust him with them.

Does anyone have an interest in such a fish? I paid $40 for him at the local store, and that is where he will go unless someone else has a similar pest problem.

Oh, and BK, I might need to borrow that fish catcher we were talking about.

Lonnie,
I have never watched him eat an aptasia. However, I did have several in the tank when he was added and now they are gone. I do watch him tear into majanos with deadly vengence.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. :)

I've read that Aiptasia will hide when a butterfly is in the tank than re appear when the butterfly is removed. I was reading about it on an article about CBB's but, thinking about it, though an animal, I can't really be sure it has the presence of mind to sense a threat than move and hide to avoid it. I know they have some sort of sensory maybe they "smell" the presence of said butterfly, and skin out, but I think it's more of the aiptasia were simply lucky to be out of reach and than moved out by chance after the CBB was removed. Interesting read, wish I knew where it was I read it.
