Just wondering what any one feeds their majestic angels? I'm going to get some mysis, brine, seaweed, and some pellets.

What kind of pellets do ya'll feed and what type of seaweed?

thanks

Majestics are great fish. The most important thing is to be sure that the one that you buy is already eating...Make sure you see it eat in the fish store before you buy it. But, once they are eating, they are good eaters. All the foods you list are good for them and they'll take them vigorously. I use Nori that I get at a Japanese grocery and the Majestic goes wild for it. The pellets I give it are for reef carnivores.

thanks for the info. I wanted to feed a variety of foods so that it gets as many vitamins & nutrients as possible.

Mine eats everything. 5 kinds of flake, pellets, mysis, bloodworms, brine, rods, green nori, red seaweed, brown nori, angel formula, etc.

I use New Life Spectrum pellets, the thera formula in both 1mm and 3mm size. The fish and especially my angel love this. I also feed formula 1 & 2, angel formula, mysis, fortified brine, and a homemade mash of fish, shrimp, clams, squid, ect. I also give nori 5-6 times a week. I also soak in garlic, vitamins, and zoe of selcon.

To those above, what kind of Nori are you feeding? Where are you getting it? I went to the grocery store to look for fresh nori and they had none. They did have roasted seaweed sheets for sushi rolls. I've seen red, brown & purple seaweed at the pet store, is this the same?

I used the sushi nori in the supermarket. Just make sure it is only seaweed, some of the brands use flavorings and/or added soy protein and you dont want that. My fish seem to prefer the green.

I've seen red, brown & purple seaweed at the pet store, is this the same?

No, the pet store nori is hideously expensive compared to the supermarket nori. Other than that it is the same. ;)
