majestic angel

i currently have a majestic angel in my 100 gallon tank along with a picasso trigger and large green chromis. do you guys think i can add one more fish and if so what would you choose?

I would add in a tang. Maybe an atlantic blue.

is that a flagfin angel in the bottom of the pic? IN a 100g you could add one or two smaller sized fishes if your system can handle it. I have to suggest either a puffer or tang/tusk.

yes that is a flagfin in the pic that i had for quite sometime and eventually had to remove due to the constant harassment of the well established majestic. any recommendations for a small agressive fish or should i just get like 2 more green chromises?

hey michindi your japanese pygmy angel is awesome! i noticed that you too have a majestic. how large is yours and how is the compatibility with the pygmy?

You could get a few more chromis and another fish. I happen to really like puffers, then maybe a harlequin tusk or a purple tang.

i tried a large porcupine puffer before but my majestic would always nip its fins but maybe a tang might work out.

You might find the angel to be pushy with other similar sized fish. I keep a majestic in my 120 and he "tolerates" a couple of the others but get's testy w/o provocation. I think given the trigger, something on the aggressive side would be appropriate. THe tusk might be a nice addition, or perhaps a large wrasse? I think small fish will at some point become too much of a temptation for the trigger.

thanks for the info jerry. do you think ill be taking a risk if i were to get a dwarf or pygmy angel? my majestic is currently 6-7 inches and has not grown much for the past 2 years now.

Hard to say. I've kept large angels with centropyges before. My blue face would chase the eibli around but never hurt it. OTOH, it totally ignored the cherub. I've been reluctant to add a dwarf angel with my majestic, and it's still small at about 4 inches. With a lot of hiding places, it might work. Just be aware of the potential problems.

i went to my lfs today and purchased 6 blue green chromises. i wanted to make the tank a bit more interesting instead of just having large fish. they add a lot of personality and color to the tank which was something i was going for.

Keep us posted Dirk, I purchased a Majestic today. Six blue green chromises seems like a lot for your tank though.

i thought six would be alot as well until i put it in my tank. it was just the right amount since they are all really small. once they get larger ill probably cut it down to 3. can you give some info on your new majestic and post a pic if you can. thanks.
