Majestic Angelfish

Today I saw my dream fish: the Majestic Angelfish, really nice fish. He was large, for me anyways, I would say between 5-7 inches.

I was wondering, I only have a 120g tank and I already have a Maculosus Angelfish and a Lemonpeel Angelfish (who get along no problem).

Is my tank big enough for the Majestic and if yes, is he compatible with the other angelfish ?

hmm the compatible maybe fine b/c the majestic and mac are much different in appearance but you may want to find a smaller majestic tho

I wouldn't keep two large angels in a 120. I have a majestic in my 120, and although it's a five foot long tank, I think he'll pretty much use all of the space. Having two such fish is not going to allow them any "get out of my way" room. Th Mac is going to be a large fish and I think it might not take well to the majestic. In a much larger tank, I think it might be workable.

I am not saying to go ahead and get it, however, majestics do stay rather small in comparison to other large angels. I bought mine when he was about 5 inches, and over a year he has grown like a quarter of an inch, while my emperor has grown from about 3 inches to about 6 inches. in that same time. I don't anticipate the majestic getting any larger than 6, or 7 inches at most, yet I do expect the emperor to reach close to a foot in length.

Also, since they are quite shy, mine spends significantly less time swimming around, and actually spends a lot of his time hiding in caves than other large angels.

If you are going to put a large angel in a smaller tank, majestics aren't a bad choice.

And for what its worth, both of the large angels I have are in the same tank and get along great...so far...
