Majestic/blue-girdled question

Every one of these fish I see has a weird looking face, almost like it has velvet or skin sloughing off. Obviously, DD wouldnt sell a fish with obvious problems, so Im assuming this "look" is part of its juvenile to adult transition. Am I correct?

I had one of these angels for 14 years. The face colors fade in areas based on their mood or when lights just come on. The fish can change back to full color with no blotches in a matter of a minute. Great pet even though she destroyed all my soft and hard corals in a single weekend. This was after not touching any for two years. I will never trust another angel in my reef tank.

Their color change with mood. Great in my reef. Next to the Regal, they are my favorite angel.

Majestic/blue-girdled question

I have kept three and I do agree, they will get those marks based on mood. Can come and go within a few minutes. However, I did also struggle with HLLE with one and it essentially looked the same.

That said, I've been really surprised at how AWFUL some of those majestics look that they have been posting lately. I've saved a few pictures because I was going to start the thread asking if anyone else noticed. One of them in particular looked so awful it must have died or been re-listed because there is no way anyone would have bought it.
