Major tank issue

I had been fighting with red slime algea, a couple of times, for the past month or so, and had finally figured out that it was the heat, so I put a box fan on my tank to lower the temp. However, at the time, I was going to be leaving town for 10 days, so I setup the auto feeder, and light timer, and got the algea problem pretty much under control. When I got back, however, I had growth on every side of my tank, and found one dead fish, that I still havent identified. this morning, my 2 clownfish were still swimming strong in all this crud, surprisingly, but by tonight, they had both died, and been partially disolved, which makes me think its something stronger than just algea. So now, I have a dead tank, and I just want some feedback, what could this be?

Hi hippyman, this feedback section is for feedback to the reef central moderators about forum features and technical or forum policy questions....
But, on the "reef discussion" section here at this link http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1 is the best place to get feedback or help on tank problems and where the majority of reef central members go to answer or ask tank questions like yours. Hope that helps.
Good luck with your tank! :)

If the algae you have is Cyano, and you were gone, it probably used up most of the dissolved oxygen in the water, that and the fact that Cyano can be toxic in mass quantities.

What was wrong with your other thread ? Didnt like the responses you were getting ? You didnt want to share test results, water params, you didnt think you needed to test your water after everything died so you figured just start the same thread in a couple more forums ?

Testy aren't we?

Probably just frustrated the fact that he didn't respond to his original thread. It gets pretty aggravating trying to help someone, then they are nowhere to be found to give specific info.

Yes :)

It does get very frustrating when trying to help someone and they dont respond. Then to top it off they spam the forums with the same questions but dont respond in those either.

Got ya, I am on more than one forum this being the latest. What I do is make either a mental note of people like that or an actual list and then don't bother with them.
