I'm setting up a new tank and want to aquascape it this way.
It will be an Oceanic 140 Reef Ready tank. In the back left corner I will have a live rock mound that will reach close to the top of the tank. From the top of this mound I want to create a stone arch that will end near the front right corner.
My initial thought is to have an acrylic base under the sand that will have a 1/4" or 1/2" clear tubing attached to it. I will drill holes in the rock and thread it through the tubing until I get to the left rear corner. I will than somehow anchor this end into the mound or some type of bracket hidden in the mound.
I'm hopeing by choosing a big first rock to start the arch it will weigh itself down and be stable.
If you know of any proven methods to do this let me know. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!
