Making LR

Hello there all well i just finsished my 1st batch of Lr that i made using portland cement, crushed coral, aragonite and some small amounts of play sand. I am currently soaking the rock in fresh water for 5 days then do a water test then new fresh water. if anyone has any ideas or extra suggestions please let me know.

You may be able to use quikcrete quik wall for future rock. It is pretty cheap and cures very quickly so there aren't the pH issues there are with regular portland. I have also heard of people using crushed oyster shells as well. How are you making the shapes? What ratios are you using sand to portland?

Picks! :D

i am using for the 1st run 5 cups of aragornite, 1 cup play sand to 1 cup portland cement. let that dry in the mold for 24 hrs then soak it in regular water for 5 days then water test.

Maybe this could be done during a club meeting? It'd be a fairly easy demo for someone that's done it before. Just an idea.

I'd love to try this some day.

This is sounding intresting. I'm hoping to water test a 90 gal this weekend and hope to start setting it up within a couple of weeks. Just not sure if making some type of Pillar for a 4 foot 90 gal would look good or not?
