im gonna try and make it there tomorrow .. i live like 1 mile away.

are the prices good on tanks, lighting also??

I don't know how you've never been there as close as you are. I think I work about a block away from where you're located if I remember correctly. I just got back from there. He is selling all his new tanks at cost. Everything else is on a case by case basis but the savings will be substantial.

wne there yesterday..
picked up some snails
purple tang
green bird wrasse

need more snails so prob. going back Sunday.

quick question my 90g. 40x18x24

i have a 65 watt x 4 PC light fixture can i keep any coral with this?

my tank is flourishing w/ mushrooms, just trying to see if why the price is right i can add a coral to my tank

If you're picking up coral from Makin' Waves, make sure you take measures in ridding it of flatworms before you put them in your tank. Jim (the owner) will instruct you if you don't already know how to.

Anyone know if hes open tommorow for sure? I was in there today, and my cousin stocked his 90g tank with coral for under $70.

He also had a pair of bluestriped clowns I want so bad... I want to go and replace my cleaner crew as well.

I totally forgot to mention if he was going to be open. We were in a rush.

Yeah, he's open tomorrow for sure. He told me those clowns are Allardi's (?) from Africa. Too rich for my wallet!

Re: Makin' Waves Closing

Hey all,
Just saw this post. First off, the flatworms came in on a shipment, and we were just in the process of eradicating them, when I found out about the situation that my backer was in that caused me to close down the warehouse. They are non-parasitic, but still can be eradicated with a freshwater dip in a jiffy. Second, we are actually NOT closing down. We are going to be moving to my residence, and installing a greenhouse for the ultra rare clams and corals that I am able to get. The website will be down for a couple of weeks to allow for the move, at which point I will make an announcement about our grand re-opening. Once we re open, ALL clams and corals will be sold at wholesale prices, and will be posted on the site WYSIWYG fashion. You may also order dry goods still, as well as fish. The rare fish i.e. Mystery Wrasse, Pylei, Rhomboids etc. will be housed here, while the common stuff can be pre-ordered and arrangements made to pick up for locals or shipped to out of area residents. Take care, and see you in the very near future. JN:strooper:

I stopped by Makin Waves today, Jim has a sweet set up! It's too bad it took this sale for me to check them out. There are still alot of SPS left and a couple of clams. I think I got the last of their zoos though.

He had a fair amount of fish left as of earlier this afternoon (3pm-ish), but today was suppose to be his last day of business. However, I would call him tomorrow afternoon as he mentioned that he will more than likely be there. Looking for anything in particular? I was there almost everyday last week, so I have a pretty good idea what he had/has. :D

I was there today as well. I talked to him and he said he wouldn't be open to the public so I jumped on some clams:D

I got the big 5'' brown/purple derasa, and a small orange with green lip...they look great in my tank next to the halimeda in the sand. And I cant wait till the orange with green gets bigger.

My brother was there yesterday and got a grip of zoos and other frags. He wanted to get more stuff but he thought his bill was already over 300...lol, when it turned out to be just over 100. I was hoping he would be able to get more deresas, but I'm happy with mine. :)

I was there yesterday and man I was never happier. I want to thank Makin’ Waves for giving EXCEPTIONAL service and an awesome sale. The staff was very helpful, especially Keith who welcomed and generously helped my girlfriend and I our whole time there. I hope there would be sale there today as I would immediately head there after work, I wanted to grab those Clowns and remaining Zoa's hahaha..

He told me he is going to be there this afternoon but not sure if he is going to be doing any type of walk-in business. I would call after lunch and see if he'll open his doors for ya...

He'll be at work today, just not open to the public. He has to get everything ready because people from Maryland are coming to get the system by the end of the week. Just keep calling and if he answers tell him your an RC'er and that you will help in the shop a bit, maybe he will let you in:)
