Malachite Green

I just got a used tank that has been treated with Malachite Green. I want to know if after removing all the rock and sand, can the tank be cleaned enough to use it as a reef tank?

Yeah. Just fill it, let it sit for a few days with a power head, then dump it. I would repeat this process a few times, so that you dilute any residues. Malachite green is really only scary because it is harmful to us, being a carcinogen and all. If you dilute, and remove most of it, there will be no harm to future residents.

cool, i was worried about moving my existing tank residents to it and then slowly watching them die.

my plan was to scrub the thing down anyway and clean it up to my standards and rework the mess they called plumbing. really the only thing that will be left that was contaminated is the tank and pump.
