Male Blue Throat Trigger, coloring

I have a small male bluethroat trigger. He is about 2-3", still fairly small.

My question is, he hasn't colored up on his fins yet. the outline color hasn't turned the typical bright yellow, just a faded light brown ATM.

When should i expect him to color up nice?

How long have you had him? His colors will definitely get better with age. What are you feeding him as well?

combination of nls pellets, frozen mysis, krill, and a whole, opened clam 2 times a week

my blue throat is the same way, doesn't have the nice coloring on the fins and the blue isn't that pronounced around its mouth. It's around 3-3.5" and I've had it since August. I just put in a female with him yesterday to see if that'll help color him up. I feed NLS flake, formula 1 pellets, mysis and it eats the nori i feed all the others as well.
