In the early planning stanges of a large tank, and have been doing alot of searching to compile a fish wish list. I would like to keep these to fish together in a tank. What do you guys feel would be the minimum tank size to do so?

Well crosshatches take ALOT of room, I had a mated pair in a 180 and they were on the go constantly. So Id prob say 300+ but obviously that depends on budget.

Is that recommendation based on they fact that they are both males?...or you just think these triggers require 300g?

I would probably pick one. They are both very similar fish. I know two males of either species housed together will usually result in one of them getting killed. Im not sure tank size will really factor in unless you go very large.

My LFS owner keeps four crosshatch males in his 180gallon tank. Those fish are not for sale because he likes triggers very much, they are like dogs. Truly magnificent creatures they are!!!

I have a Humu Humu , Niger , Pineapple ( male ), and a Blue jaw ( male ) together And they all get along fine in my 125.

Not that they are both male but the crosshatch triggers are very active swimmers. I of course went on the side of caution as to which tank size would work. Im sure the trigger would be fine in a smaller tank, but not as happy.
