Male Gramma Making Nest Killed The Fourth Gramma,, I Guess

HE IS STILL MAKING ALGAE NEST BUT KILLED THE FOURTH GRAMMA..NOW HE FLIRTS WITH THE OTHER TWO. ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE EGGS LOOK LIKE.. HELP. PS DO HERMIT CRABS PREVENT MY CHANCES
 
Never seen a gramma nest, but i would lok into pseudo's (dottybacks) i would exspect them to be very similar. There is lots of good info on here regarding peudo's Orchid dottys in particular.

Somebody please correct me if im wrong

They're not making those eggs now. The male was kicked out of his cave by a serpent star - then jumped into the overflow. I've been keeping him in there to fatten him up, since the *****y female demands he guard the eggs CONSTANTLY and feeding is clearly not within his fatherly duties.

Royal Grammas (I assume this is what this thread is about) build nests inside caves with strands of algae, in my case macro algae. You know when they're really in the mood when the male starts gardening. :)


OP, are you sure the 4th gramma was killed? If you didn't see a body, you might have eggs. I thought my female killed the male when he disappeared, only to find this egg mass a little while later. He was hidden in a cave guarding the eggs and rejected his first egg mass. If he hadn't, I may have not known he was alive still for months.
