The females have quickly caught up in size to the lone male...and have been picking on him.

If anyone local would like him, please let me know today. Shouldn't be too hard to catch, since he literally jumps into the feeding cup.

Funny, My female picks on the male in my tank also. But just a quick chase here and there. I added another female a while back the first female stressed it to death.

Unarce how many females did you have with him? How long were they together and did it turn male or was it male when you added it? Thanks..

I started off with seven about 9 months ago. 6 females and 1 male.

The size disparity wasn't much, and it seemed that the 3 largest females and 1 male were always enforcing their pecking order amongst eachother. I lost all 4 of those at various times during this past spring, with only the smallest females surviving it all.

I added the new male last June, but I guess the ladies got sick of him

How did you catch the fish in your cube Karl? When ever I go to catch fish I end up taking out some if not all the rocks of my tank, break some coral tips and lots of swearing.

I feed with a plastic kitchen measuring cup, so they associate it with feeding time. He just swam right into it.
