I am sure this is asked often, Sorry... i read for a while here, but never saw how to tell difference..
I have 4 , 2 of them hang together all the time, but I was thinking they were males, because they have big bellies (pouches)

The males have pouches, the females do not. If you need an ID when it isn't obvious you will have to post a pic. The 2 males can hang out together, no problems. I have 2 males that insist on courting with eachother even though there are 3 females in the tank with them. Silly seahorses

I was once shown the difference, by a lfs Owner that knew alot about seahorses... (it was not pouches) (live 100mile away now)

Well, the pouch is the most predominant feature to distiguish sex of seahorses. If you need help post a pic.
