I have about a 3 month old 125 fowlr with a 55 gallon sump/refugium filled with rock and macro algae. The system has about 150 lbs of rock. I also seeded the refugium with live pods. I figure that in about 6 more months I could be in a position to house a mandarin. However, this is a semi aggressive tank with a picasso trigger, flame hawk, several damsels, etc. in the system I have read conflicting things concerning whether a mandarin can co-exist with aggressive tankmates. I have read that one should not house a mandarin with aggressive tankmates, and I have also read that the slime coat of a mandarin is so distasteful to fish that they completely ingore the mandarin. Any opinions on this? Not something I would consider for a while, but I am just thinking about something down the road.
