Mandarin bulge

I have a male mandarin that has been in my 75g tank for well over a year now. Recently it developed a bulge on its belly just in front of the anal fin. I'm concerned that this may be some sort of infection. The fish still seems to have an appetite and swims throughout the entire tank as always. Any ideas as to the cause of this and how concerned should I be?
