Mandarin Goby question

Has anyone experienced them making a clicking type noise when eating? We have a mysterious clicking noise on occasion in one of our tanks and are hoping it's him and not a mantis shrimp or something.....

I get that with my copperband butterfly. It's amazing how loud it can get. When I first heard it, I started looking for a crack in the tank. I think it has to do with the way they use suction to draw the food into thier small mouths. I have a mandarin too, but I've never heard the noise in that tank.

my undulated triggerfish did that too!!!! I know manderarin gobies are exremly hardy!!so it could be!! when i was locked up my parents fed for 30 days but didn't add no water!!! my tank was half full when i got home (39) and goby still alive and kickin!!

could be a mantis
i had a mini mantis in my tank for 2 years and never knew it.

I can't pin point if the noise is coming from the goby... How would I know if it's a mantis???
