Mangrove Questions

I'm considering starting up a mudskipper tank and I have a few mangrove questions.

1.) Can they be kept in their pots or must they be removed and planted in the mud?
2.) Can they be trimmed at all to keep them within a certain height?
3.) How do they fare under T5's?

Thanks.

I run 8 mangroves out of an Aquafuge hanging on the back of my tank. They get plenty of light from my halides. I snip leaves off the plants often for nutient export. I do not have them planted in any substrate and the roots still grow.
I am convinced that together with my chaeto the mangroves keep my nutients way down and I have avoided a lot of problems.
I hope some of this helps you out.

1 - Never seen them in pots, but I would think for long term health removal from the pots would be good.

2 - I have been under the impression that trimming them atleast when they're young is bad and spell disaster for the plant

Engine7 could you elaborate alittle more on your mangroves, what kind, how long you've had them?

3 - Mine is doing well under 65 wattsPC light so I would imagine they would do fine under HO T5s.
