Mangrove Seed

I have obtained a few mangrove seeds and do not know how to grow them. Has anyone ever sprouted their own mangrove seed before? I so then what do I need to do?

If it's the green pod things, you place them in the water with the tip above the water. If it's a proper seed, you need to sprout it in moist soil.

If you bought "black mangrove" it's a proper seed, if you bought "red mangrove" it's a propogule that should be grown emersed. If you plan on growing them in salt water, red mangroves should be started in salt water. I'm not sure if the same applies to black mangroves.

Here's a link to a thread I started about mangroves if you scroll down through you'll find a bunch of links which will help you to care for your mangrove.

Yea it's the green sprout thingy's. I have some extra refugium mud. Should i just put that in a container with some saltwater?
