Mangrove Tank

I am thinking of starting a small mangrove tank. I just read Mr. Calfo's article in the RK mag from 2004 and think i can do it. The only question that remains is what filtration will i need, if any? I want it to be small, maybe 5 gallon (?). What are any good livestock that lives in this natural enviroment, But stays small enough for this type of tank. However it is not that important for a fish because this is more for the zen appeal.

Thanks, Elan

Mudskippers.

But there isnt going to be any land... I am going to use red mangroves

In a 5 gallon, I doubt you could put in more than 2 mangroves. In the long run, they'll probably outgrow it. IME, mangroves are easy. You probably wouldn't even need any kind of filtration. Just do a small water change every other week.

so i will have to dose magnesium and i wont need a filter?
Two mangroves will be fine as long as they have roots. I just go out and pick up the seeds wherever i can find them (im in miami) that havnt sprouted.
