I got a 12” mangrove with 3 or 4 roots. Do I just shove it in the sand, or get some kind of pot to put it in?

I made a holder with styrofoam and had two reds suspended in the water and they were perfectly happy for years, so they don't even need any substrate.

I used 1" PVC pipe and superglued two suckers top and bottom. Instant holder. Mounted inside back corner of tank.Let the roots work their to substrate. Depending on root ball size, use 1" or 3/4 PVC

I used a piece of styrofoam and sliced a hole in the middle, then threaded the top through the opening and it’s floating in my refugium.

I just threw a huge am of chaeto out. My two macros grow slowly compared to the chaeto.
